Mark is the University Librarian at UPEI, architect and PI on the Islandora project, and President and CEO of DiscoveryGarden. Mark is the Founding Director of Knowledge for All and is passionate about things open: open access, open data and open source. He created Knowledge for All to as an effort to return publicly produced scholarship to the public domain where it can benefit all of society.

Joe Velaidum

Joe is the Vice-President of DiscoveryGarden Inc. and is responsible for client and agent relationship management, business development, lead development, and contract management. He has been a customer of, and a significant contributor to, the development of the Islandora software and has shown leadership in the use of emerging open source technologies at the University of Prince Edward Island, where he is also a professor. As an academic and a VP of an open source digital asset management company, he wants to ensure that public knowledge, funded by the public and created for the public good, remains open and accessible to everyone, and has therefore donated his time to the Knowledge for All project.

Lise Brin
Emerging Services Librarian, St. Francis Xavier University

Lise Brin came to librarianship after completing a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Film & Video Production from York University. She spent a few years working in television production, and several more as an arts administrator in Toronto's film festival circuit. Lise then switched gears and completed her MLIS at the Dalhousie School of Information Management in 2008, during which she developed a fondness for web usability testing. Upon graduating, she took on the intriguing and exciting newly created position of Emerging Services Librarian at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS, where she enjoys collaborating with her colleagues to devise new strategies to old problems and testing out future trends.

Lynne's interest in open education and learning and her belief that this movement will become an important factor affecting teaching and research in future led to her involvement in Knowledge for All. Emerging technologies leads to the evolution of emerging services and an important - perhaps vital emerging service is the provision of open access to data and knowledge.
